Snowflake Challenge Days 7 and 2

Day 7

In your own space, share your love for a trope, cliché, kink, motif, or theme. (More than one is okay, too.) Tell us about it, tell us why you love it, give us some examples and recs. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

One of my favorite things in the world is when fanworks deviate from traditional formatting; that can mean chat format, multimedia, sound effects, musical interludes, multivoiced, radio snippets, gifs, manips, fanart, clickables, snippets from letters, bits that have been crossed out, emoticons, recipes, comics, chibis, vids, fourth-wall breaking, what have you. I'm not even sure if I could explain why it makes me so happy - something about it being more immersive, or that it surprises me, or that it gives me more ways to come at the story... I don't know. But I literally wiggle in my chair like a puppy when I find a new one :D
I try a lot of this kind of thing in my podfic, which works to varying degrees, but here are some fanworks that I've liked that used it (and one self-rec, because DYWTDMA will never not be something I rec)

Another pretty prominent favorite thing about which I could write for hours is stories about or from the pov of minor characters, especially ones that clearly had their own stories but that the narrative didn't have time (or interest -_-) in exploring. My deep and abiding love for DUM-E is well known (:D), but gimme more fanworks about Armando Munoz/Darwin, about Elrond, Arwen, and Eowyn, about Jenny Mills, about Natasha, Sam Wilson, Pepper, Rhodey, Darcy, Jane and Sif, about Gamora, about Jadzia, about CJ Cregg and Donna Moss, about Stacker Pentecost and the Kaidanovskys, about Boyd and Erica, about Diana Barrigan. I love my main characters, but I know their stories. I want to know about CJ's first crush and if she was nervous when she did her first press briefing. I want to know if Pentecost felt prepared to adopt a kid. I want to know how Gamora learned to pilot a spaceship. I want to know about Jane and Darcy's late night dance parties. I want to know what Boyd and Erica whisper to each other in the middle of the night. Tellmetellmetellme.

I wish for fanworks that focus on minor characters and fanworks that play around with formatting. That's only two, but I gave long lists of example ideas up there if anyone wants more guidance :D
