Dear Podficcer: Podfic Summer Swap 2022

Hiya

Fandoms I like, with notes, in no particular order:

• Murderbot - *grabby hands*. especially here for funky formatting, but really here for anything.
• Vorkosigan - I have many many feelings about everyone: Miles, Cordelia, Aral, Ekaterin, Gregor, Simon, Elena, Kareen, Alys, Ivan, Taura, Tej, Laisa, Ethan, Bothari, Elli, Dono, Jole… Everyone. They are my darlings. All of them should have everything they deserve, with everything that entails.
• Young Wizards - tiny fandom of my heeaaaaart. I love them so much. So much. So so so much. All of them. Everyone. In every time and place.
• Dragon Age: Inquisition - I love everyone except Blackwall, whom I'm afraid I don't have much patience for. Krem and Harding are also excellent, should you want to go in this direction.
• Guardian - I know that this might be a bit more of a stretch, but if you're interested, there's some lovely fic for this tiny, beautiful, sometimes quite silly show. I mostly ship Zhao Yunlan/Shen Wei, but so does the show :D
• MDZS/CQL - it's a fandom juggernaut right now, but I do love it so! Mostly here for LWJ, WWX, JYL, WQ, WN, and LSZ.  [Will spell this out later)
• Scum Villain - much more of a long shot, but i can dream! Especially here for SQH/MBJ
• The Old Guard - Especially here for Nile-focused and Joe-and-Nicky focused. Not here for Booker except as background, though.

 

Things I'm particularly into:

• slice-of-life
• funky formatting
• AUs
• epistolary
• fluff

I'm going to depart a bit from what I've said in past years, because I've had a very, very long year, and say explicitly that I'd rather not receive angst. I'm not saying that I'm only interested in marshmallow fluff, and a few short moments of angst are ok, but I'd like for the overall tone to be on the happy side. More specific squicks/triggers include:

• no-escape situations (either real or metaphorical – eg backed into a corner, despair, suicidal ideation, variations on "you have nowhere (else) to go", "no one will believe you")
• dub- or non-con
• misunderstandings/miscommunication as a plot device
• chase scenes 
• major character death
• honestly please just stay away from anything that gets iffy in a mental-health way. If you're not sure, please please please ask - comment here anonymously or as the mods to pass it along.
